Our little achievements

During the first term of k1 meet the parents session with Julie at chiltern house, she actually classified Dax under the "cannot read and write" category in his class. Shucks.. I'm thinking, I'm the laziest mummy in the class and u mean I need to do something about it?? I tot the school can deal with it!! Omg..








Mummy is not as diligent as other mummies who really spend an hour each day to do assessment or to read books. Mummy is working and doesn't have the time and energy to do such things. As Dax's classmates have mummies that are mainly stay home mums, hence he doesn't have the luxury to have someone coaching him in the day.
1 immediate solution is to let him take those enrichment class like" I can read",like some other kids. However, he freaks out when he knew he got to go class alone.. k1 had no lessons that can be accompanied by parents!!! :(
In order to solve this problem, we tried to engage someone that can come to our house instead. Hence we found teacher Jean!! A few of us sat in during the class, nothing great... I think I can do it too... Anyway this teacher insists on having a lesson of at least 1.5hr to 2 hours, that's too much for Dax I think... And Dax doesn't enjoy her lessons at all.. Dreading the time.. So hence, after 3 lessons, we decide to employ " teacher daphne" instead !!! And how he loves teacher daphne as there will always be tidbits and drinks during the lessons :) hee hee

I'm so happy that within a period of less than 2 months, Dax's penmanship has improved tremendously. The words that he can read and spell are at least 26 of them.. :)
















With Lorna Whiston's help, teacher daphne can afford to resume back to her lazy self :))))

My little boy

Though his actions are small, I felt so loved by my little boy..

This little boy whisper to me on Sunday morning : happy Mother's day when I was still struggling on bed to wake up... He knew Sunday is Mother's Day and daddy didnt tell him anything at all..


Next, he actually made me a "flying kite flower " all by himself when I was taking a shower.. He told me he chose "green" to write the words becos it is my favorite color.. He told me he wants to make a flower for me for Mother's Day..

All these little actions are done by him, no initiation prompted by daddy at all..

U really melt mummy's heart, Dax. Mummy is so happy that u seems so grown up and sensible..

Love u, and I hope our little 宝贝 will have some of ur characters too... :)

Our mummy doesn't like to 挤 with people, hence we decide on a tabao dinner.. Oh yeah!! A nice dinner at cote!

A perfect Mother's Day gift to see Danelle walking quite steadily on the "tortoise" and seeing the 2 kids supporting each other.. It's so heartwarming to see the gor gor always wanting to protect her Mei Mei :)

Lorna Whiston

A first 3 days accompanied programmes have let us know roughly what kind of activities they r having each Day. I did the 1st and 3rd day whereas daddy did the 2nd day..




The whole school is a lively one with all teachers looking bonded. it's a full day pre school program from 830 to 5pm.








Lorna whiston = Good luck bear school.. This has successfully made Dax so proud and happy to be in this school as good luck has been mummy's fav!




I am very delighted to see that Dax has settled in very well into his class.. It's really not within my expectation that it is that fast and smooth. Well done Dax!




This little boy has to make his own bed, wear his own clothes, eat on his own n pack his own bag.. He even needs to make bed for the N1 and playgroup little friends. Independence needed! Yes, 1st objective..








Fantastic enrichment courses included on thurs and fri, speech and drama as well as phonics class. I manage to sit in for the speech and drama class and I love it! Wonderful teaching and free play by the kids! Thumbs up!




They r really academically focus for the first half of the day. There are dedicated Chinese and English teacher throughout the first half day and there are Chinese and English classes daily. They get to write sentences, read story books, talk about the theme of the week, write Chinese characters, sing songs and have fun learning! Yes, 2nd objective..




Alot of outdoor activities.. There are 2 sessions of outdoor almost each day, they get to run around and sweat it out. Good exercise and sports training! Yes, 3rd Objective..




It was a tough time between 10am to 12pm + as this hours have been Dax's sleeping and meal time. He turns abit whinny at these hours. Well, it's a matter of time he got to get use of morning school..




Meet coby! Such handsome jap looking classmate! I will fall in love with such boy if I'm in k1!! Haha




Meet daryl, the mr nice guy. All thanks to him that Dax settles in quickly. Super like his mannerism and leadership! Will be great if Dax can learn from him. Hence we request to teacher to make them partners :)







One shortfall is that there isn't any show and tell on the days I'm in. So wonder is there any.. However the children are all so vocal even without the show and tell.. they will have alot of things to contribute during class, I'm glad Dax joins in too.. Another shortfall is that when napping, there are some kids coughing away quite badly.. Hmmm, guess is really unavoidable for a full day program..

Really thankful that he can fit in so fast! He told us that he likes Lorna Whiston very much. Check the above video out :)
